So I was listening to NPR the other day about Parkinson’s Disease. There is strong supporting evidence that a commonly used herbicide (consumed in small doses over a lifetime) is correlated with the increased likelihood of developing Parkinson’s Disease later on in life…
That said, the news I have to tell you pales in comparison to the consequences of buying non-organic produce.
The lettuce has a lot of aphids today.
Good thing its easy to get rid of them… here’s what you do. Fill up your sink or a container of sorts with lukewarm (but more warm than luke) saltwater. Vigorously wash your lettuce (or whatever veggie needs it) upside down, in a pumping/sloshing manner. Rinse it off with cool fresh water and store it in your fridge as normal.

Bring chicken broth, ginger, lemon and whiskey to a boil. Drink. Feel better.
Today I woke up and my throat was scratchy, by the end of the day after the La Mesa drop I could barely swallow. No good, so here’s what I did/am doing.
Colin swears by this if you are sick/getting sick… his mom, Laurie, passed it to him and I am enjoying a cup as we speak, well, as I write. Feeling better I might add!
